| James T. Murray, III, CPA, MBA, joined the firm in July, 2008, as Accounting Manager. Upon graduating from the University of South Alabama in June, 1991, with a B.S. in Accounting, J.T. began his career as a staff accountant with a large, local public accounting firm. Since that time, Mr. Murray has gained extensive experience in auditing and accounting services, income taxation, and business consulting. He earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration in 1999, and served in key financial management positions in corporate and non-profit organizations. Mr. Murray is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Mobile Chapter of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. J. W. "Jack" Sassaman, CPA, MBA, merged his accounting practice into the Firm on August 1, 2004. Mr. Sassaman graduated from Memphis State University in 1977, and from the University of South Alabama in 1981. He has over 25 years experience and has been a CPA since November, 1982. He worked as a plant controller before joining the Internal Revenue Service, where he worked for five years. He then joined a large local firm for two years before moving to large regional firm as a Tax Manager. He left that firm on September 17, 1990 to form his own practice until merging with Sirmon & Simmons, P.C. in 2004. Mr. Sassaman is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Mobile Estate Planning Council and various other civic and business associations. Ronda J. Melton, CPA, PFS, joined the firm in June 2008, as Accounting Manager. She joins us from Citi Smith Barney, where she worked as a financial advisor. While at the brokerage firm, she attained her personal financial specialist (PFS) certification. She is a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a BS in Accounting. She also completes her MBA in the spring of 2009 from the University of South Alabama. Her background is diverse in areas such as taxation, investments, medical billing and collections, and other various fields. Kristin R. McCracken, CPA, MBA, joined the firm in January, 2008. She received her B.S. in Accounting from Troy State University in August, 1999, and received her M.B.A. from Troy State in December, 2000. She is a member of the Mobile Chapter of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She holds the CPA designation in Alabama and Georgia. Ms. McCracken specializes in accounting and auditing services for small businesses.
